Book Review: Roses are Red by James Patterson
Okay, holy mackerel! This was by far the best ending in an Alex Cross series book. I'm actually writing this review on the train where I've just finished reading.
My mouth dropped completely open. I will not spoil it for you but I would like to say that I've been waiting for this twist for about 5 books now.
As far as characters go, the Mastermind and his various teammates are viciously cold. There's no redeeming factor about them. I enjoy a villain that I can understand and almost feel sorry for. But that only added to how real he is. We heard less about the family during this book (comparatively speaking) and, as I've said in previous reviews, this makes me happy. Update: I think I have a crush on Alex Cross.
Plot-wise, this book couldn't be more unputdownable. It was like a high speed chase that slowed down at the most interesting curves. I cannot WAIT to read the next book.
Patterson gets better and better with each installment! I give Roses are Red a chilling 4 out of 4 stars! Highly, highly recommended for fans of Patterson, the Alex Cross series and suspense thrillers.
