I got this book via Bostick Communications. I read the blurb and was interested to read a coming of age story where the main character lives on the edge. I was especially interested because it takes place in NY.
"...we walked up to Second Avenue and found the Chinese restaurant, Peking Garden. It looked good and smelled good. We got a booth and before long, I was having Chow Mein and my mother had something that I couldn't pronounce. We finished with small plates of ice cream. Then she paid up and we left."That's not the worst paragraph I read in the book, but it's a pretty good example of the writing style throughout. It may be a hit for some, but I need my brain stimulated a bit when I read.
